I see this topic was moved to the budget gear forum. How funny, guess this means BBE is real SHIT!
I dont use one, never have. But I have read many post's one here from guitar players, and they seem to like the BBE.
Maybe if I was asking about the Behringer V-amp, I would expect the move to the budget gear. But I have seen many BBE's in various studio's. So I wanted to know what the difference's are?
I never read "budget gear". I HATE cheap ass gear!
But I didn't know BBE was such a low line of product :(

I don't think it got moved here because it is a piece of crap. I think it got moved here because it is one of those items that doesn't carry the illustrious price tag or recognition associated with "Pro" gear. All I can say is I've been in a few major label quality studios and have seen BBE Sonic Maximizers in the racks there and have seen them in many pro bass and guitar players' stage racks as well. I doubt these people would be putting them to use if they were crap. In my opinion I had never really had the need for one until I got this mix that had a real stubborn bass guitar in it. Re-recording wasn't an option because I was mixing the track for a client that was over 600 miles away. It just wasn't holding its own with all the other instruments and was getting lost in the mix. I was so happy with the rest of the mix though that I didn't want to try to compromise too much (such as thinning the great guitar sound I had out or pulling some more away from the great kick drum i spent a good chunk of time getting) so I borrowed a bass player from a local band's BBE and used it on the existing bass track and it got it exactly where it needed to be with some tweaking. Would I buy one? Probably not. Are they crap? I doubt it considering how many people put their stock in them. My suggestion...wait for that one project that you need it on and buy one, try it out, and if you don't think you will get your money's worth out of it return it or sell it on ebay. Sure you will probably lose like 30 bucks in the whole transaction but 30 bucks sometimes is better than paying the whole price for something you might use only 2-3 times.
