I have about $300 to spend on a new microphone. Below is what I currently have. So my question is what microphone should I be looking at ? This is mainly going to be used for vocals.
I have been looking at the V69 and a few of the AT's. Is it really worth it for me to buy a tube microphone when I already have 2 great sounding tube pre's ?

I also picked up one of the Oktave Mlk2500's.. For $100 I couldn't pass it up. Tried it out last night and was very impressed. Smooth and clean sound. I will be recording vocals this weekend with it and will try and post some clips if anyone is interested.
So much for the $300 budget.. Why does that always happen ?
Its a new disease named GLAS (Gear Lust Adquisition Syndrome) D
Its a new disease named GLAS (Gear Lust Adquisition Syndrome) Doctors say the symptoms are severe drooling and obsessive compulsive behavior, directly resulting in either Wallet Depletion or Credit Overspending. there is no known cure.
Adquiring the Gear temporarely relieves the pressure but it starts buiding up quickly every time you look at the ads in a music magazine.
Some experts advice that a good prvention technique is to cancel all subscriptions and stop going to music stores. Frequenting RO is also a factor in the spreading of the disease, but they say that RO withdrawals are so severe that it is usually not worth the risk.

Over at Talkbass.com we just call it GAS. Everybody gets it from time to time.
Rode NT2A- has the capsule of the K2 for about half the price.
Rode NT2A- has the capsule of the K2 for about half the price. - You may have to shell out a lil' bit more than 3 hundred but its worth it. Make sure you get the NT2A, not the NT2 nor the NT1- those have another capsule.
