Kurzweil Rumour or the Kurzweil Mangler...

The A/D D/A conversion is impressive. I like the reverbs on the Rumour as well.

In no particular order...
Alesis HD24XR or a RADAR system if I'm willing to sell some of my other outboard gear.

Hmmm,

2004 will be:
Benchmark DAC-1,
Stephen Paul mic,
More MD 412's (at least 2, maybe 3), and a 441,
Royer 121 (maybe)
Mic stands, and cables...these things have just been walking away from me!

Most of all I just want to finish my DIY projects...(1176, SSL Quad comp w/ servos, API 312's, LA2a and 1081...bloody hell that's a whole lot on the go at one time)!

Ok!
I'm going to go down soon to get a pair of Meyer HD-1(your fault AudioGaff (thanks)), next two preamps one of them a John Hardy the other probably a sebatron, a soundelux U99, an AEA R84 or Royer 121. If the sale of some property goes through that is under contract now there will several other things as well.

Since this is the year I will be building my home studio essentially from scratch, I have lots of gear on the list. A lot of it is still up in the air, though, so I can narrow to a few items I most likely will be getting:

  • A pair of Studio Project's C4 mics.
  • A new higher-end drum set. I don't like this Tama Rockstar I have now. I'd really like a Gretsch USA Maple (the candy apple red satin finish) but it's beyond my price range for now.
  • A Chapman Stick.And that's about it from the "definite" list.

    Yeah, 2004 is the year! I've been working out of other people's rooms for years now but this is the year that I'm opening the new facility. I'm scared to death, but ready to die for the cause. LOL. Here's the wish-list...

    2 Distressors
    an old DBX 160 VU
    a pair of 451's
    and a control surface for my ProTools rig... (any suggestions?)

    A matched pair of the Stephen Paul mics- very affordable, and I trust SP's ears as well as his company to make sure they don't drop the ball on what will surely be his legacy.

    A 2nd Reddi tube DI unit- for stereo purposes (keyboards, etc)

    Waves Trans X - totally control over if I want drums sounding close mic'd or roomey, and control the amount of plucking I get out of Ac guitar

    Mc Dsp - The variable Q update on the Filterbank plug in... The Chrome plug in - sounded AWESOME in person as opposed to the rather crappy demo's I hear online

    Some type of Cranesong gear. I will own one by years end (probably the STC 8-h). I wish like hell I'd see more of their stuff in studio racks.

    Consumer Reports said the Ionic Breeze was next to useless compared to some of the others on the market. Thanks, I had no idea. I have this older portable unit that just makes way too much noise and is heavier then hell (big casters)...
