I'm borrowing a rig from a buddy and there seems to be a very strange MIDI glitch that I can't get to the bottom of. Nuendo 1.52 running on XP, Delta 1010, ASIO drivers selected triggered by either my Peavey DPM C8 and or Radium 61. I've been using, well...trying to use VSTi as well as my Nord modular and JV-1010 and the results are identical. The problem isn't latency but rather a tendency to move notes over by odd increments. If I play a standard 4/4 backbeat, for example, the entire clip is moved off grid by a 32nd and sometimes even early(?) Other times it will be a jumbled mess with nothing approaching a measurable shift. like some notes are quantizing to different parameters from others( imagine the hats swinging a 32nd note early for a bar and the snare at a triplet and late) I've had no problems with MIDI on this machine while using Live 5 so I'm pretty confident the hardware is cool. Nuendo is a new platform for me and I've tried everything a rookie can think to check for. Again, latency isn't an issue. Everything plays and playsback solid. Its just very time-consuming to have to manually adjust everything after a perceived "good" take. Hope somebody can give me a shove in the right direction.

What version of Nuendo? There were some issues with SX where "virtual midi ports" would cause the midi sync to go mental. Turning off "virtual mid ports" seemed to fix the problem. There may also be an update which attempts to fix this. If all else fails, http://www.cubase.net would be the best place to get an answer. I KNOW this has been dealt with before over there several times over.
