I'm in rehersals with an anchor system as the main. It's one powered with one passive in parrallel. I'll be suplimenting them with eons for the show, but have a question about them in general. They are generating a whole ton of self noise. I don't work with this sort of industrial side equipment, so i'm supposing it's just the way they are. Could imporoper use by the owners (feedback, physical damage, clipping) have led to a lot of self noise. It's definitely not my equipment or lines. Content on them is fine, just with this noise on top.

i hate those speakers. could be anything. i encounter them at work a lot when we sub-rent speakers for meetings. i've found them very quirky. always sound like crap. no two sound the same, etcetera. one thing i ran into a few weeks ago was the phantom power circuit creating excessive noise on a couple of the speakers. so if you don't need the phantom power and it's switched on try turning it off. also if you're using only one of the inputs make sure the other is turned down. oh, and check out that stupid tone control, get someone on the mic and turn the tone control knob til it sounds ok.
