There are better ways to try to warm up your tracks than with a microwave :shock:

Seriously, I wouldn't think it would be at all convenient. I wouldn't run a microwave that close, especially while using the mixer. I probably wouldn't even turn a microwave on if it's connected to the same circuit as musical equipment that is also turned on. Microwaves usually create a sizeable surge when they are started. This could stress your other equipment if the other equipment is on.

You're probably really asking about electromagnetic concerns, though. I'd certainly keep a microwave away from anything that might be damaged by EM induction, like tapes, etc. If the mixer was on, and you started the microwave, you'd probably hear it through the system. As far as EM damaging a mixer from being near it....I couldn't say for sure. I imagine that it's POSSIBLE that something becomes temporarily or, even permanently, charged in the EM field, but I couldn't say for sure. They are supposed to be shielded and all, but I'd bet that some are shielded better than others, and who knows how well yours is?

Basically, what you are asking about is trying to find out if introducing a potential problem would really be a problem. Having enough savvy to know that it MAY be a potential problem should lead you to the obvious solution of finding another place for the microwave, or the mixer. If you have to wonder, you probably already know.

Thanks, I was asking about an electromagnetical problem, and I moved it accross the room anyways. I live in a dorm room so space isnm't a luxury.
