I'm curious if any I/O's exist with the following features:

24/192 or 24/96 PCI I/O, w/ PCI card possibly shielded.
4-8 colorless mic preamps.
4-8 analog mic/line inputs and possibly some instrument ins.
4-8 analog line outputs.
S/PDIF I/O, MIDI I/O.
Zero latency monitoring.
ASIO, WDM, DX, & GSIF support atleast.
...and very important, it must be able to atleast have playback support for 16bit/22kHz files.
(Even better if it supports custom sample rates down to 8kHz)

If someone can point me into the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

you don't want much ... do you ?

the very low sample rates could be a problem.
the DX and GSIF support could also be a problem.
PCI card support will get fewer and fewer as the years pass.

BUT people are making stuff like this ... this one is TDIF based

not what you want but it is interesting

Definately interesting. Tis a shame though that most I/O's made today dont support anything lower than 16/44.1kHz and sometimes 16/32kHz. Im forced to use a consumer audio card looped into my main I/O just to playback the files. This is a big concern for me as I work with interactive media and video games.

They closest thing I've seen to what I need is the presonus Firepod but its firewire400 24/96max and doesnt support 16/22kHz.

I would possibly consider a firewire 400/800 I/O even though its WAY lower than pci33/66 bandwidth it still has massive overhead considering if you record @ 24/96khz on a all 8 channels you only use 136Mbps/sec of its 400Mbps cap. Thats 263Mbps overhead and even if the unit uses 192kHz to record all that you'd still have overhead.

Well I found out 2 that somewhat meet my reqs

Edirol DA-2496:
http://www.edirol.com/products/info/archive/da2496.html

Terratec Phase 88:
http://produceren.terratec.net/modules.php?
op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=9

The Phase 88 supports ALL the sample and bit rates I use and the Edirol only goes down to 22050.

My current I/O's maker went out of buisness like they fell off the face of the earth and that has got me quite concerned as to what I/O I purchase next... Im not concerned about edirol going out of buisness (roland says it all) so I can assume the support is decent atleast.

Now I've heard of Terratec but I'm not very familiar with them. I hear the drivers are mature so hopefully that means straight up stability for PC. Anyone have any input they'd like to share about this company?

As far as the mic pres onboard both units I am left in the dark.
Google time eh?
