I currently have a hybrid setup, using a mix of plugs and hardware (i.e. compressors and verb). I am running PT-LE on an 002R and am considering making a move to either a Steinberg product or PT-HD.

I know that Cubase and Nuendo have a Ping based latency compensation system. I also know that PT-HD has auto delay compensation and the Time adjustor plug. My question is the following;

When I run my hardware through my patchbay and into my DAW I always end up with significant latency and delay issues which I have to manually adjust for.

Is this type of problem a non-issue in PT-HD by using the auto delay compensation and/or use of the Time Adjustor plugs or do you still have to manually adjust for this problem?

Thanks.

This is something that is trickey
and the methods used do work but some people can still be critical

It may be best to consult a PT manual OR get someone to demonstrate this stuff on a real session with outboard and latent plugs.

Time adjuster plug doesn't allow you to dial in negative samples.

Each track gets delayed to the delay of the longest delay.

Nudging audio tracks still seems to be the easiest solution at times.

:roll:

If you are thinking of spending this much money,
you need to get it demonstrated properly with one of your sessions.
