I think this is worth reporting: I bought a MA-200 tube condenser from Mojave Audio about a year ago. Recently, the rubber bands holding together the shock mount disintegrated. I wrote Mojave asking how to go about getting replacements. They immediately replied, asking me where to send them - free of charge. Two days later, a completely new shock mount arrives UPS at my door - not just the rubber bands, but the whole thing. No questions, no fuss. That's really good support.
p.s. I have 0% interest in the company.

I love the mic. I have a modest project studio, and the MA-200 cost twice as much as the next most expensive mic in my cabinet. While more money doesn't always translate to better sound, in this case it was a fantastic and notable upgrade for me.
I have used the mic on everything - horns, guitars, drums, glock, cowbell, you name it. I think everything sounds just great, and the cool G I paid for the thing is well worth it given how many sources it captures well. But in my experience, where it really, really shines is on vocals. I run it almost exclusively through Seventh Circle Audio's Neve clone and it gives off that great mix of focus, warmth and sparkle that is often just the ticket.
I guess the only thing it didn't do much for me on was electric guitar, but then again I've never used any condenser on a guitar amp and liked the result. Once I went ribbon, I can't seem to go back!

The replacement shock mount is identical to the original except the cables' rubber bands holding the thing together have much more integrity - they are like bungie cables and not raw black rubber bands like those originally shipped. These won't fail for years to come.
It was a brand new product when I bought it. Stuff like this happens. The important thing to me is how they dealt with it. Mojave's effort to go above and beyond what I asked for gets an A+ these days.
Right on. Good news like that deserves to be heard. SonicIdio

SonicIdiot,
How do you like the MA-200?
