Hello all!
I was just wondering if buying one of these line conditioners is money well spent for recording purposes. Maybe one like this:

or one of the larger unites that you can plug up to 8 pieces of gear into. That way I could run my computer, recording gear, and guitar amplifiers through everything.
Thanks for any input!

I'm sorry, but what does "works in parallel" mean?
Also, looking at the desription for the BC86 MKIII that you provided a link for, it says this:
"The effect extends to receptacles, on the same circuit, up to 20 ft. from the treated receptacle"
What does that mean? You plug this into the outlet and then plug a power stip into it? And then it "cleans" the power going to everything that is plugged into it?
Sorry for all the questions but I am just a little confused!

Basically, it conditions the power in the outlets up to 20 feet down the same circuit (parallel) so you just plug IT in to an outlet, as opposed to plugging things into IT.
It's not a spike protector or anything of that sort - It's made to "clean" the power on the entire local circuit.
And that's a damn good thing. :D

Line conditioners can help sometimes but don't count on it. If you want truly clean power you need a UPS with a transformer. These are not the small units you see for sale at Comp USA. They are Network Grade UPS's and can easily power a small studio. The transformer converts the AC to DC and then back to AC giving you a clean sine wave. The small units don't have transformers and just condition the power. The good units are large and heavy (my 2 weight around 100lbs. each) and are not cheap, you can expect to pay anywhere from $700 to $5000 for the really big ones. Check out this thread for more info.

Here's another that actualy works in parallel - Haven't tried it, but a "trusted set of ears" I know swears by it...
