Does anyone have any tips on finding studio space? I can't find anything except office spaces!

If you are looking to start a commercial studio, don't do it from scratch.

Look into two ideas.

1. In my neck of the woods there are several studio spaces that are empty because, well because the studio owners sucked and they failed. You can find some pretty amazing deals per square foot and probably not have to do much to get it ready.
Any decent commercial realestate broker/agent can find the available spaces within seconds.

2. Find a studio on the verge of going under and make a deal to buy time from them at a big discount. I did this for almost 3 years and has an incredible space that I paid next to nothing for. And I only paid by the hour, so if I wasn't making money, I wasn't spending money.

During that time, my only overhead was my cellphone.

It helped the studio owner eek out a few more years of business until he could find a better position in the industry. And it made me some righteous dough.

Hope this helps,

Chris
