Dude-
you're a geek and have only ONE box? Here in my studio.. I have two running all the time. one win2k, and one linux. I have a dual boot laptop that goes with me to work, so I can develop on linux. At my shop, I have two boxes there. Not to mention the two old laptops (386 packard bell, and 486 Epson) and then there's all the 486's (3) I have laying under the dining room table (heh- I'm a bachelor!), that I could put together and make at least one running box. Not to mention my Sharp Zaurus pda!! Then there's the old IBM at the shop, and all the old parts and stuff. Heck, I even have a hard drive that's a whoppin' 20 MEGA bytes (and it still works, and has a bootable DOS on it)
:D

The machine that went down was the only INTERNET machine!! I have my main machine for audio, a secondary one for testing and several parts of older machines that I will be assembling for the VST link system!!!
Geez!! Yes, I'm a geek!! Proud to say it to!! In fact on my main computer I have a sticker that says Computer Geek on it!!

Hehehe, my living room looks like compu-geek Hell. I have a full Mac set-up, a separate full PC setup, recording hardware, amps, guitars, keys, mics, speakers, assorted peripherals and "spares", and miles of cabling. It's amazing that I can still squeeze-in a couch, recliner, TV, and a couple of end tables. I've wanted a big e-drum kit for a long time, but I don't know where in the hell I'd put it!
I have a Texas Instruments calculator...does that count??? DH

P.S. Just kidding...I have 4 boxes that are running...my laptop (work/internet computer), a PIII 500 (print/file server), a PIII 750 (Kid's computer) and a PIII 1GHz (Audio computer) all networked together (from the basement to the 2nd floor!!! I laid network cable all though the house...now that is a geek!). I also have 2-3 486's with a stack of 12" monitors, an old 486 laptop, a 386, and even an old 286 box all stored up the attic (which one of these days I will throw away...).

Naw, I can give it up ANY TIME I WANT... (cut to scene of hands shaking un-controllably over programmable function key/calculator-equipped PS-2 keyboard, zoom out to show 2nd desktop machine, laptop, 3 printers, 2 scanners, digital camera, 100-base hub, PC-linked label-maker, shelves full of arcane geek-books, etc. - pan left to take in 5 foot high by 4 foot wide roll-around 3-shelf rack with two more dis-connected but still bootable CPU's, + enough boxes of crap to build at least two more new machines, including 2 Win98SE OS boxes still in shrink, + miscellaneous half-labeled totes with lonely Turtle Beach and ADB Digital audio cards sticking out, etc...)
Naw, I can give it up ANY TIME I WANT... S-S-S-S-Steve
