An example of this problem is when the DAW session is set at 44.1k and the digital preamp is set at 48k feeding into the session. When bounced playback occurs the pitch will be off from the original recorded tracks. Of course the opposite can occur too.

There are programs that can look at the file headers. One that has been used successfully for this purpose is Header Investigator.

The idea is to open the audio file in question and change the sample rate to the proper one.

Codemonkey also has some useful hex editors so I may add these in later if he thinks they would be useful. In the meantime, I'm going to sticky this and lock it so it doesn't get cluttered.
