the NT2A has the capsule from the K2 and I own a couple of K2's and love them. I am thinking of buying 3 or 4 NT2A's for toms- at 350-399 street its seems umbeatable. I often use my K2's for percussion and the sound is amazing. Great for male/female vox as well because the continuously variable patterns. The NT2A does not have this feauture but it does have cardioid, omni and figure 8. 8) The original NT2 is not a bad mic but its sound its more in line with the NT1, of which I own a couple as well. There is no comparison between the NT1 and the K2- they are world apart as the K2 is a totally pro sounding mic- 8)

The "A" is the updated model. Supposedly a much lower noise floo

Supposedly a much lower noise floor and a capsule that is designed and manufactured in their Australian factory rather than China.
I can't speak from experience though.
