I think we need to start a group project or two. Something that we all can learn from and won't take all of our time. I'm open for suggestions. Now this can be anything from tests, measurements, whatever. We also have to take into account that people are all over. If files need to be transfered, I have a server that can handle it unless it gets crazy.

rules: Must pertain to mastering. Shouldn't cost a fortune. Shouldn't take 6 months to complete.

hey if they get renamed, could you number them (as their renamed names), and could you send out some emails to the owners of the songs with which number is their song?

I'm in for going totally blind, so that no boddy knows who did what.
Then it's easier to just listen through the numbers and deside what's one likes the best... let only music be the jugde!

I think that downloading is the easiest way for us to get the versions.
Then peoble can burn CD's themselves so Michael don't have to.

Best Regards,

Ok, So we'll do a download. If you want me to mail a CD just let me know and i'll drop one in the mail. First we have to get all the versions in.

This is going to be blind. I think you'll listen better if you don't know. Everyone will find out who's is who's in the end.

Also don't forget to remember what you did, maybe write it down somewhere so later on you can tell us.

Yes, in the end we will know who's is who's. This exercise will help everyone involved. Not only will we be able to hear what some different equipment on the same mix does, but we will also hear what the same equipment on the same mix with different people can do and how they used it.

Again, this is not a competition. No one outside of the participants are going to evaluate these masters. So don't get nervous. This is strictly a learning experience.

Day's are counting down!!! it's not to late to participate if you want to. If you have your's done, go ahead and upload it.

Well, much to my dismay, i won't be able to participate in this group project... It's too bad, because I had really been looking forward to it. But I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles, as "they" say. In any case, I think it was a terrific idea and I hope you'll do another one of these - or something like it - again.

yes, the mix is pretty compressed but not limited. There is a little distortion but there is a great mix in there somewhere. was mixed on a very old neve so there is some "analog warmth". there is a really good mix in there, you just have to dig a little. Did you guys want an easy mix?????

It's not too late so I'm going to upload the mix again and you can grab it. email me directions.
