I'm a big fan of eMagic's WaveBurner Pro v.2.2.1 for Mac OS9.
The ease of editing & the sound of POW-r dither is in a word... Fabulous!
I've used it on around a thousand CD projects in the last 3 years.
Like many, I was sorely disappointed in the initial release of WaveBurner OSX.
Apple released it before it was ready, full of dangerous bugs, and not even beta !
And only available as part of the Logic package is ridiculous.
Like many, I'm ready to leave OS9 behind and work only in OSX, ...dual booting is getting to be a real pain in the arse !
Question: Has anyone gotten the WaveBurner OSX 7.1 update, has Apple fixed it?
Is it usable, any bugs, how's the sound, CD-Text, ISRC codes, etc.
I'm a twenty year Mac "power" user, and I'm not switching to PC... nope, no way.

Sonic Studio CD or Updated WaveBurner or Both !?!
Yeah, Fosse, that sounds really interesting, Sonic Studio CD for the "rest of us." Later this month eh? I'll surely be getting that one, I hear the Sonic DDP is good too, have you used that one? The web promo looks great. Maybe the combination of both Sonics...
I've already ordererd the WaveBurner Update, so I'll do exhaustive tests on that, and post some results.
I used Masterlist CD for almost a decade until a few years ago when I found WaveBurner, that was a quantum leap forward... no, ...a giant leap for ME-kind, esp the EZ x-fades & POW-r dither.
But an affordable Sonic product for Mac.... hmmmmm.
I hear that Sonic bought Roxio, I hope this new Sonic Studio CD is more than just a retro-fitted Toast/Jam!
Well..... I've got what looks like good news! Got the Wavebur
Well..... I've got what looks like good news!
Got the Waveburner 1.1 (logic 7.1) update in today. After our regular mastering session was finished, Installed the the update, plugged in the XSkey, and BOOM ... Waveburner actually works !!!! Oooohhhh-Yeeeeaaaaah !
Did some edits, fades, looked at the multi-meter, built a few diff playlists, and burned a few test discs with POW-r dither 2.... and it works!!!
However, didn't have time for exhaustive testing, I plan on not burning any actual replication masters for a couple of weeks, til I can work every hidden corner of the software, CD text, ISRC, UPC, extensive crossfade, multiple types of soundfiles, bit depths, and sampling rates, know that it's trustworthy, and proof a few discs.
As with any update, they fix a few bugs, and some new ones may appear, so proceeding with caution is the high road.
I'm still gonna buy the new Sonic Studio CD.
BTW aren't Sonic & Sonic Studio sister companies?
I think they are trying to make sonic solutions, sonic DVD. and
I think they are trying to make sonic solutions, sonic DVD. and sonic studio is sonic studio that supports older sonic solutions systems. all very confusing. If it deals with audio, it's sonic studio, if it deals with DVD is Sonic, or sonic dvd or sonic solutions. or something like that. anyway, you get the point, i think.
Well I was waiting for waveburner to get their act together but
Well I was waiting for waveburner to get their act together but i don't know. Now what i'm waiting for is Sonic Studio is going to release a native OSX app that uses core audio. It's supposed to debut this month. we'll see.
