I've asked this question in the producer's engineer forum without too many resaults so i'll try again here.

I want to buy a lawson l47 mic and i've never heard one...
Did anybody ever compare it to a soundelux(e47,e99/e95) brauner vm1
ew Neumann models (m149147) ?

Is it holding the same league as all the other mics i've mentioned ?

What did you try it for ? :D

Don't sit near your mixing desk all day long because you are getting the shape of the chair ! do some sport :w:

:p:

All of the mics you mention are knock offs of the Neumann U47.. Lawson makes a very good product. While I have never heard the particular mic you ask about, I can assure you that the quality and sound is tops. Contact the company and ask if you can return it if it sucks. Most reputable companies will do this..

Lawson, Brauner, Korby, and a handful of other well known names make great mics. Most of these mics are based upon classic designs that are rare, unavailable, or hard to get and maintain. You will not go wrong with mics from any of thise companies.

I chose a Korby Convertible with 47, 67M, and 251 capsules. Some day I hope to spring for the C-12 capsule, too. I looked at it as a flexible way for me to have the sound of several classic mics at an affordable price, compared to trying to buy and maintain those classic pieces. If you don't need four or five 47s at once, but could benefit from having a single 47, 67, and 251 at different times, you might consider a similar solution.
