I see some DJ Mixers come with "Zone" outputs, the older Furman DJM-8 has Zone 1 and 2 outputs, can anyone tell me what the the purpose of these zone outputs are please? Thanks.

Different "zones" might be the bar, the dancefloor, the restaurant, the lobby, the patio area, etc. Many clubs have areas where they want a LOUD mix and where they don't. These mixers help the DJ comply with a club manager's wishes. Some of these mixers also permit the DJ to feed a different source to the different zones. Say, a techno dance CD to the dancefloor, piano music to the restaurant, and a paging mic to the lobby.
