Hi guys, let me quickly explain the situation:
I have my drums triggered and I want to be able to switch the triggers on with one flick of a switch. This would include the Behringer Eurolive B215A P.A.
So I bought just a cheap surge protected power board with an on/off switch and I tried plugging it all in here and switching it on (whilst the P.A's power switch was on already). This causes a bit of a thump sound - not as loud as if the P.A is on and you connect something to it and then power that on. but still fairly loud I guess.
Is this really bad for it? I'd really like to avoid powering up everything separately because I've been doing that for the last few years and the power switch on the PA is awkward to get to.
thank you.

It is NEVER a good thing to power up gear that's connected to a power amp and speakers while the amp is on. That "thump" you hear is a type of DC voltage that can, and eventually will, damage your speaker components. Always power up everything else BEFORE you power up the amplification. Don't be lazy, it can cost you dearly.
