What a way to start the morning.
Looks like I am going back to Sonar. How well does it work with GigaStudio?

Yeah, just saw that article via the Nuendo forums...indeed..I think a lot of PC Logic users are going to be pretty pissed off about that move!
As far as the V sampler working with Sonar...doubtful, only if there is a DXi version will it work..control surface? Cha..Cakewalk do anything that cool? Doubtful again...you have to understand that cakewalk is losing the war..they need a stable working platform with actual working automation and so forth..they need to work on their synchronization issues as well before they can get a dedicate console..look how long it took them to impliment the Tascam US428..
I wouldn't hold your breath on those guys...time to switch to Cubase SX..

I have contacted Emagic to see if there is any support for Logic control outside of Logic audio and they haven't responded. Sonar does support CM Automation's Motormix and Radikal Technologies SAC-2K. The Motormix looks a bit cheesy and the SAC-2K is probably a bit overpriced.
My local vendor should get a batch of Logic controllers soon and I can probably get an idea of how much it can do with other applications. After all, it's a MIDI controller.
The Automation in Sonar actually works fairly well in my opinion.

Although I haven't found an official copy, a Mackie press release was posted to the Logic Users group stating that Mackie Control would be (as I understand it) interchangeable between Soundscape, DP3, Cubase SX, Nuendo, and later Sonar and Cool Edit Pro. Until I see it on Mackie's site I'm not convinced it is true though. I don't see why not. Seems to me the only difference is silkscreening, and software that could be loaded by each app, but that's just a guess.
