I currently run a 40 gig Barracuda IV system drive and a WD JB 100 gig audio drive. Since I have to upgrade the HD on my office PC, I'm pondering replacing the Barracuda IV with a WD JB system drive and recycling the B IV as the office machine HD. Would there be enough of a performance boost to justify messing with an otherwise dependable DAW?
Also, if I make the change, can I Ghost/restore image the new drive with the Ghost backup image of a different manufacturer's drive and expect an easy transition?

Upgrading to the WD JB 40GB 8MB cached drive is a very big performance increase! Definitely gives you more oomph!
Yes, you can ghost the disk to another disk with no worries! If you were putting it into a new system, then you couldn't do that!
