2 questions:
1. How can I route an audio track through a software synthesizer in Logic so that I can manipulate a voice, in real time, using oscillators and different filters?
2. How would I route a voice out from logic, into a MOTU 8pre, and then send a digital signal to an external synth for manipulation?

You can't, unless the soft synth supports that (evoc will do that). you would have to use side chaining to send an audio track to the synth. the manual should explain that.

don't know about that. but your manuals should explain that, too. if it's possible...
"in real time" Ditch those 3 words and you're a whole lot nearer
"in real time"
Ditch those 3 words and you're a whole lot nearer.
I would expect "realtime" in this case to really mean "as close as I can get it" which will mean lots of tweaking of the PC and ultimately, still about 30ms latency depending on the number of plugins.
