Hi everyone, I'm new here, but I need some help as I've asked around and no one seems to know what's wrong.

Basically, I have Nuendo 4 with Asio4All as the driver. I have this both on my Surface Laptop and my Desktop. My Surface works fine, everything's good. My desktop. not so much.

What happens is, if I import more than one audio file, the second one freaks out. There's nothing wrong with the raw audio itself; if I playback in another program, it works fine. It's just Nuendo. All kinds of wierd alien noises and clipping sounds start playing in place of the audio. Nuendo sees the audio there, and it registers, but playback is just screwed up, and Nuendo registers the screwed up audio (I'll put a quick video so you get what I'm saying).

At first I thought it was a buffer size issue, but I bumped that up to 16000 (the highest it goes with the largest latency issue possible, lol). Same issue. I'm thinking it has something to do with the way Nuendo is set up on my computer because the same settings and everything work fine on my laptop, but I have no idea what needs fixing.

Anyways, thanks for your help!

It seems, the audio you want to import isn't at the same format of your project. I honestly don't know if Nuendo has a 'on the fly' converter as many DAW have.. You might need to convert it first.
Also check in the settings some DAWs will try to import timming markers and other stuff. You want it to import audio only.

That's the thing not all wave files are equal. I record at 24bit / 96khz but others at 24/48 or 24/44
What audio interface are you using and why would you need asio for all ? Are you using the onboard computer soundcard ??

Two things to try - one is to make sure the audio formats are the same - bit depth and sample rate, and I note you are also copying the files to the local directory. I can't think of any reason why, but does it do it playing out from the original location? For what it is worth - what audio device are you using, because I always get better results with manufacturer produced drivers and the asio drivers are a bit of a fudge for serious stuff.

That actually might be the issue. I record into the Tascam DP-008EX (i'm poor, sorry ;)) and then take those wav file and put them into audacity to clean them up. I export those as 32 bit 44.1 kHz, which is what I set Nuendo for. But there may be an issue with converting it over and over. The wavs themselves are fine and register ok in Audacity even if I open them after export, but when they go into Nuendo, they get screwed up.

Yea I'm using the onboard computer soundcard, but that doesn't show up for some reason, so I need Asio to get it to play in Nuendo.

Yup they go to the local directory, I'll check if the path is set.
Thanks!
