It never hurts to have more ram but you should be fine in that dept. I would recommend an additional drive for your music files however and a CD burner if you don't have one. I've got a Plextor burner in my studio but at home I've had great luck with those inexpensive lite-on burners. I've been pleased with the performance of the Q10 and know a lot of people who also like the RME stuff. The Aardvark folks have good support. I'm a big believer in a separate computer for audio stripped down of all non-essentials such as programs running in the background, internet, virus checkers etc. Defrag often and leave offerings of fruit and incense to appease the audio gods. Personally though I find that rather than leaving the offerings on a weekly basis a small dagger mounted on a board piercing a piece of 2" tape appeases the gods nicely. I've had mine set up for over a year with no problems whatsoever. I've been meaning to give this tip to Fats so that he'll feel comfortable switching to SX from VST. ;)

What about the tweak rods for the azimuth and so forth? Stake those into a 2" reel as well as a couple of razor blades and some leader tape made into a noose!!!!
Yes, second hard drive...CD Burner for backing up(Lite on, Phillips, LG Electronics...all those will work just fine!)
512 is plenty of RAM...going any higher than that just gives you a little more headroom...
If your audio card works for you than stay with it...otherwise go with what Mr Grimm says!
