Of course, now you will be required to run ProTools in order to incorporate anything from Euphonix. I thought monopolies where illegal.

However, an Avid press release states: "For existing Euphonix customers, Avid will continue to support EuCon– the Euphonix high-speed Ethernet protocol that enables its control surfaces to interface with third-party software."

Euphonix will make Avid better, but perhaps us Logic users will still have the control surfaces available. At Avid prices.

That is what they say now. Since they are in bed with Steinberg on the protocol they don't come clean with their true plans at this time. Bad business politics. We'll see in about in a year from now how commited they really are.

what conglomerate does anything for the good of the user. and Euphonix will only get worse, maybe not the product, we hope, but tech support, and all that other stuff that goes along with it. they used to send techs out to install the M5's and such, training and such, it will probably go away or get really expensive.

This is seriously depressing. I figured if anyone would buy Euphonix it would've been Apple or Apogee.
