I see in my System Information dialog several instances of an Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller, each having a different suffix (24D2, 24D4, 24D7, 24DE), and some sharing the same IRQ Resource.

I recall having difficulty installing the driver for my ADS Firewire PCI card, and making repeated attempts before realizing that each one had been successful.

Could this be causing the audio dropouts I get, during playback, with buffer size settings lower than 2048?

(There is a Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller as well.)

Probably not related to your system, but the Asus 955x and 945x Chipset based MoBos seem to have some issues with a few of the ICH7R devices. If you have one of these new Asus MoBo's (Like the P5WD2-Premium for example), Check your Device Manager closely for conflicts for devices in the "System Devices". This appears to be an Intel "INF" Driver install issue. Intel and Asus have been notified about this, so hopefully we will se a fix soon. Probably NOT related to your issue - but I thought I would mention it. Maybe Opus or ADK will respond...
