I am running a digi 001 through my Mackie mixer. My next step is to upgrade my preamps, because I don't have a lot to compare to, but we all know the reputation for Mackie preamps.
The kind of stuff i do mostly is rock (distortion guitar), but I need to do a range of things including acoustic guitar.
What would be the best stereo preamp option for around $1000?
Would the Neve copy like the Vintech dual 72 be the warmth i'm looking for? that's one preamp i see recommended over and over, but I need it for basically all overdubs such as bass, guitars, and vocals, as well as 2 of the drum tracks, probably snare and bass drum.
thanks
