Yeah, i'd never been to one of these things before so i had no idea what to expect.
What was worse, i had caught up with an Aussie friend of mine the night before and was EXTREMELY hungover. :d:
..something like three hours sleep. dehydrated with a splitting headache.
But off i trotted munching on Aspirin/headache tablets and the like . trying to keep my balance.

It was a long process but i felt myself slowly recovering and getting back in touch with reality.
Something i do often.

First off, i arranged to catch up with Rod Gervias ... probably rang him about four times explaining i was going to be late . not sure if i explained why.
Rod was very cool.Showed me around and helped me locate the various stalls that i had planned to check out. Thanks Rod. :tu:

WOW.
The whole thing pretty much blew me away.
All the movie stars were there:
D.W.Fearne
Dan Kennedy
John La Grou
Lars Lundhal
Eve Anna Manley
John Hardy
Micheal Grace
... people i kinda worship from the other side of the world.
Yes the trip was definitely worth it. :tu:

There was some excellent equipment being displayed and premiered.
One of the highlights was definitely Dan Kennedy's new EQ.
WOW ... well done Dan !That really stood out, so tight and fast.I hate you. :s:

Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly,
no-one avoided any of my tech-type questions.
What are the rails?
What's the input impedance?
What gauge wire do you use Lars?

The only thing i couldn't work out was why Aspen Pittman was there.

Did you have a chance to meet and chat with Les Paul or James T. Russell? Wonderful folk. Legends in my book.

Les Paul needs no introduction. But James T. Russell... is the inventor of the Compact Disc.

I met many more "heavy hitters". Very humbling. A great listening experience for me.

There was one guy I was really looking forward to meeting, but it never happended.

Dan's EQ knocked me to the floor! This one is worth a prize.

S~, I was only there for a couple of hours, and regrettably didn't get to see everyone I wanted to meet, including you. Hope there'll be another chance soon. In the meantime, I did enjoy my first time using your VMP200e last month...a lot.

Was LES PAUL there as well??????

OMG OMG OMG OMG ...

Dammm,i missed him.
...and i missed Les Paul as well. :(

Yes, 'THE' Les Paul... with his brother. I got to chat with him and take some photos.

James T. Russell was in my buddy's booth (Louis Manno, The Audio History Library) just hanging out there the whole days. You should have seen the pictures he has. The first machine to record and read digital (optics and plastic plate)... dated 1974. He showed me one of his drawings of the "idea" back in 1964. Spectacular to say the least.

Did anyone else check out the Chandler TG-1?

Yes ... it really was a beauty ,
I pushed the tops right up and it was so noiseless.
Then i poked around the middles and it was so spot on ,
I thought i was gonna faint.
...maybe it was my hangover....don't know...

I would've loved to have met James.T.Russell
..another legend.... just like Kurt. :D
