Hi, I just recently got a Mbox 1...very long story made short...i have no instruction manual for the thing...I'm totally new to recording...I have a few questions.
1. How do I hook up a mixing console to it? Do I use Left/Right Main outputs into channel 1 &2...or do I use subgroups?
2. Is it possible to buy another Mbox and have 4 tracks of recording?
Thanks so much for your help!

take advantage of their 30 days custmomer support while you still have time, because it sucks after that. The manual I got doubles as toilet paper. The install sucks. Make sure find all the extras and get them loaded on, I found expand 3 months after I bought it. I'd forget at the console or a midi controller until you get the DAW up and running.

I found out after I bought the unit no one in the store used pro-tools, they all used nuendo. 30 days company support sucks, with reason I have unlimited email support. With my imac i got 90 days which is a tad better. I was talking to Digital performer Senior and you get life support from them. Digi help sucks.

You cannot aggregate MBoxes to have more inputs. Digi wants you to PAY for more inputs and go for the MBox pro or even the Digi003. The MBox 1 has Focusrite pre's, not even bad.
And to hook it up to a console, yeah, you can use the L and R and put them in any inputs e.g. 1 and 2 you have available.

Ok, if you want to learn about a product, you need to go to the manufacturers website and download the manual. You need to take the time to learn it inside and out.
Here is the link to the page. You can download a manual:
