Not to rain on your parade...because it does sound wonderful indeed...I'm in no way suggesting that there isn't a boat-load of vocal talent in that room, it's obvious these cats have some game.

But... there is treatment present... plenty of it. I see at least 7 broad band panels, multiple diffusers on the walls and ceilings, and the ceiling, which appears to be at least 10' high, has been canted... twice, in opposite directions.

And those mics aren't Behringers, either. ;) My bet is that the preamps are pretty nice, too. I would also suggest that you are likely hearing a nice reverb treatment as well - perhaps a Bricasti or maybe TC Electronics... because it's a very high quality sounding reverb.

In short, this wasn't done in someone's bedroom. ;)

Didn't mean it that way, but the room is full of the things people lose sleep over. Storage, with lots of items that can resonate and rattle, and real 90 degree corners that haven't been automatically filled. The treatment is obviously good, but placed where it's needed, not plastered all over as a result of micro placement. However, the actual mics doing the job don't leap out and say 'brand, brand, brand' - that's what I meant. Looks like a few small mixers for presumably the headphone mixes. The reverb is indeed nice, but which ever way you look at it, they've nailed three people per mic, and the girl doing the really high bits sits just right.

They actually sound to me rather like that blend you used to get on early US adverts. The weird thing is the accents, I can't imagine (well, actually I can) what a British version would sound like? It would date it, while the US accents fit very well. We're still reeling from Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins and Chitty - but this is the opposite.

Besides the stellar and cutting edge animation for their time, Disney always had one thing that stood out far above other studios at that time... and that was the music.

IMHO, even a step above Warner Bros, and they certainly weren't "hacks", either.

Finely crafted and arranged songs to begin with, and wonderful performances by cream of the crop musicians and singers.

From what I've read, Walt was more than just a little involved in the music side of things, too.

Unlike other studio heads - people like Louie Mayer and Daryl Zanuck - who filled the "standard executive" responsibilities like budgets and contracts, Disney was constantly checking in with his composers and arrangers, and he sat in on quite a few recording sessions as well.

And FWIW, "Feed The Birds -Tuppence A Bag" from Mary Poppins still gives me goosebumps...and sometimes even a tear or two as well. ;)

That room is so accurately tuned it is obvious. Heck the ceiling most likely hides real bass absorption with possibly Helmholtz resonator using the wood slats. Where the ceiling flattens out you will notice a lattice work. Think it is doing anything? Yep :)

But the real eye catcher is that chick in the green striped dress...OMG, I swear she winked at me!!!!
