If possible would you rate the following: Boss GT-8, Line 6 PodXT Live, Voice Tonelab SE, Johnson J-station

Im after the most, like anyone else is, I guess. The most/nicest clean and distortion sounds. Think AudioSlave/System of a Down crunch.
Think Gavin DeGraw/Cold Play clean/ambient sounds.

If possible give any pros/cons to look out/listen for.

You people rock. Look forward to your replies.

I have owned 3 different modelers and I only own 1 now. The Line 6 guitarport is cool until you do all of your mixing post recording. I bought a Tonelab to check it out since a tube usually makes the sound good. I absoloutly hated it, too flat and they modled every Vox amp under the sun but none of the other models were decent. Now I have a Line 6 Guitar Pod Xt and I love it. The recto simulation is awesome and gives a real nice crunch. A good hint for the line 6 gear is add on a tube screamer effect in the pod for a litle more slice and bite in the distortion.

Dude, sorry to say it but you're asking the same question over and over again. (Check the guitar forums). The bottom line is Which one do *you* like the sound of?

You can't rely other people here, fella. You gotta get off that butt and get down to your local music shop or national chain (banjo center!?!) and TRY them.

Sorry, its not what you want to hear. There is no easy answer. There is no silver bullet. This will be a personal choice, for you. Sure you can get other people's experience of whats what, but at the end of the day - ITS UP TO YOU!!!

If I had to pick I would choose the Line 6 PODxt. You can coax some decent sounds with a lot of tweaking. That said, I would take the 300-400 you would spend on one of these and buy a silent speaker type box. Randall makes one as does Demeter. They don't sound exactly like micing a cab in open air but they are much more realistic than any modeler I have tried including the XT.
