I figured out the problem, everything's working fine now. Thank you for the advice ^^

It sounds like a microphone problem. I am not and likely will never be a fan of Avid/M-Audio interfaces but they function well enough with a frequency range far far greater than your clarinet can play. The mic should be able to handle anything you can buzz a read at it-you have no physical way to get to 130dB on a silly :-) woodwind. First, how close are you micing the clarinet. If you are close then back off about 6 to 12 feet. There is no reason to be right up on the instrument. At any rate, if your gain staging is correct then something is wrong somewhere. I'd start with your preamp on the Avid box. Keep the gain knob lowish in the 2-3 range. Leave your default in Audition alone. It won't affect it really anyway.
