Hi all,
picture with PreSonus Studio Live Series 3 is where I’m in the middle of getting set up. I removed the monitor bridge. I’m thinking I’ll put longer poles in the speaker stands. I was using short ones as speakers were too high as was on bridge.
I will post some more stuff when I have time but I figured I’d show the difference coming on down in the Servants Quarters:).
Cheers,
Tony

I feel for you... When doing something with passion we often forget our age and body limitations.
I'm only 50 and need to be careful already.. 35 years of drumming and a lot them using bad posture will do that to you... ;)

I finally got wiring and power to both studio A and B setups today. The main PC has all its SSDs installed too. I’ve got 4.5TB now after putting the other 2 MX500 Crucials in. Now I need a couple of female XLR to TRS cables for the Presonus Studio Live Series 3 monitor feeds.

Thanks Marco :).
And now the studio B rack/desk. I’m using the Apollo as a preamp basically into the Motu 828es via both ADAT out pipes from Apollo. I then go AVB to studio A and the Presonus Studio Live Series 3.
Bad news, the command hook strips came off one of the sound frames... going to have to screw to wall after all. What a pain in the rear :(.

pcrecord I can actually get my feet under the rack units, but it’s not meant to be sat down at for hours. Originally it was meant to be just an interface turn on and leave.
edit : almost forgot the female XLR to TRS cables turned up today. I now have audio out of the Presonus Studio Live.

Can you use the Apollo as a signal processor too? Like route a bus to/from it with some UA plugs on it.

Hi Kyle, yes!. It’s why I’m using it like that. Both interfaces are on thunderbolt to the MacBook Pro. I just look at the control panel and tell it what to use then send out ADAT to the Motu.

Yesterday I discovered my new Motu has a dead thunderbolt port for sure.. I had the Motu 828es working perfectly on USB, but not what I want!.
I videoed the moment I got the MacBook Pro playing audio from the Apollo over ADAt into Motu then over AVB to the Presonus Studio Live in main studio room. I was ecstatic.
Motu is now on way back to Thomann for repair (doubtful) or replacement (much more likely). 3-4 weeks... arghhh.

Nice that the apollo is playing nice! Thunderbolt is a connection ive heard more problems about than any other. Usually its a compatibility thing.
Either way at least the seller is standing by the product, i think motu makes a solid gear and have spent many many hours using their 2408's.

kmetal I’ve had no complaints with thunderbolt until now. Both my MacBook Pro and my PC are made with Thunderbolt 3 ports. The issue is literally a dead port. Sadly DOA issues can happen. I’ve been pretty lucky with lack of DOA considering my gear changes over the years lol.

Thomann are a funny company, support is great, but communication is clearly not their strong suite :). Last night my Motu 828es turned back up. No email before hand explaining what was done, if anything, it works though. Happy about that :). They clearly were able to fix whatever was wrong as it's the one I sent back to them.
On a separate issue, I had a issue with the Studio Live 16 Series 3 too. An upgrade to the Universal Control and the firmware made ASIO support disappear. I finally got that update to work yesterday, my initial reaction was to roll back both older version that worked. The joys of modern computers....
A joyful occasion did occur yesterday morning, I setup the M/S mic setup I use to record Vocal and Acoustic and recorded a song roughly. Thanks to using Studio One remote on my iPad I now have a good starting point with well balanced mic levels. Next step make videos for the upcoming HPE Xmas concert. I'm going to do two of our originals one of them being our Yule song.

Nice. I would have requested an exhange for a new unit. Whenever something comes deffective from the factory i never trust it. The point of paying full price (to me) is not to get a floor model or refurbished unit. Even if the unit is fine, it bothers me on principle.
Glad the setup is coming together.
Nice place !! Have fun ! ;)
