Hi there,

well, I found so many DAW's as topics at your discussion forum, even some without any posts, but where are the professional ones? What about the other professional machines: the Fairlight MfX3 and SADiE workstations I'm working with? Does Digidesign sponsor this site? You know, a good PT System is as much as expensive as a Fairlight system and even more than a SADiE system. And I prefer systems that won't loose data when (in case of Fairlight IF) they break down.

Am I alone in this RO DAW world? ;)

c bette,

First, to answer your question about Digidesign sponsoring us... let me answer a resounding NO WAY! We cannot be bought. That's all there is to it. Digi might want to pay us for advertising in the future, but that doesn't mean we will give them any preferencial treatment in the forums. They recieved the initial forum only because that's what the first members of RO happened to be using.

As you may know, we only just started the RO site in September of last year, and things have been growing quickly. This DAWworld area is an even newer addition to the RO site. We want DAWworld to be a place where users of all systems can come together to exchange ideas, and prospective buyers can get a look at everyone before making a decision (not just ProTools). We are currently putting a list together of new DAW forums to add. (Fairlight and Sadie are on that list already, but we're sure there are some we haven't heard of yet. More suggestions from our members would be appreciated.) It might take a while to get all the modifications into the board, but they are being worked on. Please bear with us.

Once each new forum is up, we will be looking for moderators. If you would be interested in moderating any of them, or if you'd like to help us find moderators from the respective companies, please email audiokid at info@recording.org

Thank you for your support, and welcome to RO/DAWworld! :)

don't know if you knew or not, but SADiE users have their own version of recording.org! you can find it at http://webbd.nls.net/~SADiE - it's moderated by none other than mastering engineer Glenn Meadows. it would be nice to have a little corner here dedicated to us SADiE/other DAW guys, though.....i personally think SADiE is one of the best audio-post DAW's, nuff said.

Hello C Bette.

Are you looking for people who use the same DAW like you do or are you more or less interested in what other DAW's have to offer, besides the well known few that are discussed here ?

If it's the latter, you might contact Benoit, who is also on this forum. He uses the Pyramix system, not very wel nown outside Europe, claimed to be very professional.

Paul.
