How good is this book?
Mastering Audio: The ART and the Science

And will it walk me through some really helpful steps to learn how to master. I know mastering takes a long time to learn, but I really want to learn how to. So I have been hearing a lot about this book. But if I buy it I want to be be sure Im going to get something from it that will get me ready to go. Anybody hear about it or read it?

I find that it does a better job helping you to understand WHAT mastering is and how to have tracks prepared prior to mastering.
That being said, there's some wonderful advice in the book and it resides permanently on the back of my studio's toilet (to me, the ultimate compliment for any studio literature.)

Cool Im going to go pick it up. But I was also checking out ur mastering site. Do u have any hip hop examples ? I was feeling the rock song but Im a hip hop artist. Nice studio by the way.

A) Agreed, it's a great book.
B) It's *NOT* a book about "how to be a mastering engineer" or anything else of the sort. It should be required reading - But it's not a training manual for mastering.
It really is about "mastering" (in the broader sense) audio.
