I've been recording with cool edit pro, and encountering a slight problem. I'll get a chord progression down, then save it and open it up with another program, then try to play it on my headphones while I'm improving over it, but the problem is that the chord progression that is running in the other program gets recorded onto the new track somehow, so the improv is not seperable from the chord progression.

Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?
