I currently have a Meek VC1Qcs and I am using a C-1...needless to say, they both work well together. On the other hand, I only use the chain to record "dry" voice for commercials and narration. I have a VC1Q and think it's a really good preamp, with and excellent compressor a usable, yet very basic eq and an enhancer/deesser that is usable too. Love it for vocals, kick and as a bass DI Box (it has a built in instrument input). While I haven't heard the Focusrite I think it is not easy to compete with the Joemeek, especially in this price range....
