Hey guys,
Currently using Mackie xdr preamps , wondering if it would be worthwhile upgrading to the joemeek vc-1q to improve the quality. Will be mainly used for vocals and occasional bass.

Time to buy a nice pre. Looking for a better front end channel into that lowly beast of workstations, a 001. My only other pres are those in my 01V. I began looking at an RNP, coupled with either two RNC's, or a dbx dual channel compressor such as a 166. But now I've decided to go a little more high-endand am seriously considering this one, with the optional S/PDIF digital card.

i am looking for a vocal mic preamp in the $400 to $800 range. i will be running a studio projects c1 mic through it.

right now iam thinking Focusrite voicemaster or Joemeek vc1Q. thanks

running on MOTU 828 to dp3. if that helps.
