I did mean the 1820M, but the 1820 is also good. The 1820M just has better converters.

I'm awaiting the release of the 1616M, and thank you for drawing my attention to it in the first place.

I need to confirm that you can use multiple digital inputs at the same time on the 1820M such as optical and coax that have been clocked together. I almost bought an Edirol box because it had multiple digital inputs, but they couldn't be used together -actually in this case there are limitations that made the whole thing ridiculous, and it wasn't cheap either.

Your input is always appreciated.

Well, like on most digital devices that have the same kind of digital ports, you can't use S/PDIF optical and S/PDIF coax at the same time, you can't used ADAT optical and S/PDIF optical at the same time.

Your best case senerio for inputs and only option to use both digital ports at the same time is by using 8-ch analog, 8-ch ADAT optical and 2-ch coax S/PDIF.

My original plan was to use S/PDIF coax and ADAT together, and I didn't care about the analog inputs, but given the fact that the E-Mu's own converters are of a decent quality I might not need any external digital except for the two channels I already have.

I'm really looking forward buying one of these.

Thanks for that. It might be a good idea to wait and see what other users have to say after it's released. I'm using a Dell Latitude (one of the Dells with everything by Intel), so I hope that's fairly generic.
