TADA! Let the pigeon's loose!

I nominate Bos as the recipient of the

"I Definitely Know What I'm Talking About But Won't Cram It Down Your Throat" Award. (y)

He holds the distinction of being the member here on RO who is the best at explaining the technical side of our craft - in ways that are always highly intelligent and accurate, yet at the same time, easy for us to grasp. We are not worthy. :notworthy:

His non-biased analyses of recording technology and the various analog and digital tools we all use to improve our craft - and ultimately our sound - has been an incredible resource of information...at least for me, anyway, although I refuse to believe that I'm the only one here on RO who feels this way. :)

ps...and no, I did not spell "analysis" wrong at the beginning of that paragraph... "analyses" is the plural for "analysis" ;) )

Hat's off to ya, Bos. I manage to get myself stuck in the technical mud quite a bit around here, yet somehow you always seem to find a way to get me un-stuck. ;)

I could not agree more Donny, I've been quietly campaigning for Boswell's knighthood for a couple years now. Leaving aside for a moment that fact that he's vastly more intelligent than I am (which admittedly isn't a high bar to clear), I especially admire Sir Boswell's willingness to educate the complete novice in a way that is genuinely helpful, and not in any way ever condescending or argumentative. He's also been kind enough to help me with questions I have asked via PM, because as I explained to him, his was the only input I had any interest in hearing.

How much greater would the whole internet be if there were more people with Sir Boswell's attitude and sage advice?

There it is... he absolutely needs to be knighted. Who's gonna contact Betty at Buckingham and get this done? I would, but the last time I was there we had a little disagreement... the woman won't even take my calls now... won't return texts... nothin'. Gawd... you tell one queen she needs to lose a little weight and...

Seriously... Bos has helped me out with his knowledge so many times that I've lost count; he has given me alternate angles to look at and for - that I wouldn't have ever thought about on my own - has helped me track down and troubleshoot issues...

And always with a pleasant and willing demeanor. He's a major thread in the fabric of this forum.

And don't be embarrassed Bos... I'm sure that you are fully aware of how much CRAP there is out there when it comes to assistance in this craft - the theories, opinions, everything from the "maybes" to the downright wrong - and everything in between. You Sir, are one of those cats that is always helpful, offering sage advice, and that's not an easy thing to find out there in web-world, and you should take pride in that. There's absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about there, my friend.

I wish I could know just half of what you've forgotten about over the years. ;)
