Which one should I buy? I like both but can only afford one of them. Any sugestions? Is one better than the other? I will be using them on everything from vocals to instruments.

I have the VC1Qcs in a trade for services (came down to it being it was either that or nothing) just so I could have the Joe Meek flavor of compressor. The mic pre, eq, exciter, de-esser are certainly nothing to brag about,and the compressor is not the best or even a good fit many times. Overall it is an average and decent unit that was being sold at a fair price.
The new Joe Meek stuff has been over-hauled and is likely a step up better in quality.
The SC2.2 is not the same as the SC2 as it is more of low cost version that has most of the of the same character but not all of it.
