I like to I'd be in love, but...

I'm a disappointed with their take on plugins, automation and 5.1 mixing.

There's only one knob for each channel, and four on the main section. Anyone who's used a plugin knows that you need way more control than that, to use them effectively. This looks like a very fancy DAW transport, rather than a DAW controller.

There doesn't seem to be any automation or memory - which means no instant recall. I suppose they think that anything you'll want to recall later, you'll do in the DAW? Seems a little silly - you would expect to be relying on the SSL's channel strips >more< than the plugins in your DAW. What's the point of integrating a HUI, if your most important settings aren't going to be saved with the project file?

And, it looks like they expect you to do any surround work within the DAW, which, for 5.1 stuff turns this into a pristine set of pre-channels and a HUI.

Still, I don't think I was ever part of their target market anyway :>
