Well, looks like the Digi96 Hammerfall line isn't for me since it's optical interface only and would severely limit my choices of power amps thus I'm getting the RME Digi96/8 PST which has a 1/4" TRS input and a 1/4" TRS output. When researching about this card, I stumbled upon this link:
http://www.io.com/~kazushi/audiocard/digi96/
Here's a quote,
"Differences between good one and bad one is about caps. Bad one is using SMD caps. Good one is using 22uF50V electrolytic caps. RME said both caps are identical, so it doesn't matter. At least, they will exchange to good one if you show actual bad THD at a low frequency."
I stared at them very hard(i.e. by clicking the pics to zoom them) but I cannot seem spot the difference. Anyone else had better luck than I did? Er, in other words, how would I know FOR SURE I'm getting the "good" version?
