Yep, I think Nero is pretty much the way to go. Digi do have CD burning software (Masterlist CD) but it is Mac only.

As for the burning speed, some people believe you should always burn you "glass masters" at a low speed, 1x or 2x. Some say they can hear the difference. I'm not saying they're wrong, but the jury is still out as far as I'm concerned. ;)

That's interesting, mine won't burn regular cd's at 2x, maybe i should start spending a little more money.

I've noticed that the newer drives won't go below about 8x. I use an old 4x SCSI unit so there's no probs there.
Before you go spending more money, see how you go with the higher speeds. I think that the difference (if any) will not justify the extra expence at this stage. An if you are producing glass masters for commercial duplication, you are better off splurging on a stand alone unit.

I usually get clicks and other noises as well as other problems when i burn at higher speeds, I get the best results at 10x I think I'll get Nero.

You should be able to download Nero and trial it for free. Also.... yes, stick to 10 or 12x max for burning audio CDs. Those clicks and pops suggest to me that your hard drive is not keeping up or that you have too much "crap" running on your computer. Nero will deffinately help though.

Check out Steinberg's WaveLab for Windows, too. It's got all the goodies for CD dupe mastering, and may be worth the $$$ price if its formidable features as a stereo audio editing program are also of interest to you.

I totally agree with the Wrangler. Wavelab is the answer.

Also go check out Sonic Foundry's CD Architect, one of the best (if not the best) audio dedicated burning software ever made for PC; the only drawback is that if your burner is rather new it could be unsupported by the burner, since it's been discontinued by the manufacturer.
If that doesn't work (pity) Wavelab is a good substitute, I only use Nero for data discs, not audio.
