I'd like to purchase some Studio Projects Mics.
I need a decent set of OH's for my kit.
I have a TLM 103 I use for vox & other things so I'm mainly looking to use the SP's on Drums.
Could someone explain the sound differences of using SD verses LD on OH's?
I'm leaning towards the SD's because I could use them with the 103 on Acoustic GTR.
BUT
I like the "big/natural" kit sound so should I go with LD then?
Thanks
Sean

While the C1 would not be my first choice, with the right micing technique they could serve as overheads also... I don't have a pair of C4s to test, but they may have better off-axis response (SDC), which is valuable when tracking overheads.

I just bought a pair of c3's for overheads. They are more versatile than the c1, but have a similar tone. I also didn't have much use for a Small Diaphragm condenser so the LDC's were a better choice for me as well.
