I have a 100GB WD Caviar on our server that suddenly stopped working. That is, it doesn't show up at all in the system. Previous to that there were some alerts on write failures to this disk over the network.
How can I get access to the disk so that I can run some disk-tool and recover the data?
It is mounted in a system that runs Win2000 advanced server.
Anybody?
All the best,
Fredrik Lidin

One more question: I can't see/access the disk in the system (disk manegement). It only shows up in BIOS and in the Device Manager... So, I can't run Scandisk. Does this matter? Or should I try something else first in order to find out whether Scandisk or this Restorer2000 can do something for me?

Oh boy.....There is a program that can restore FAT32 system drives...what you should try to do is a scan disk on it if you can in any way!! This will and might help restore it.
Otherwise use Ontrack Data Recovery...it's a program that is about 199.00 bucks but it will restore FAT32 drives!
