In normal troubleshooting, you unplug everything, then test and add one unit at a time. So with nothing but AC power does the Eurorack buzz? Does the Mac buzz on battery? If you connect the Eurorack and the Mac (still on battery) does it buzz? Or does it start buzzing when you switch the Mac to AC power?

Good point. I'll try it when i get home and see what happens, im at work right now so i cant do any troubleshooting at the moment =/. And would u prefer getting an audio interface for recording b/c i was told that could help out a lot and make things sound a lot smoother.

More informative: Take a breath... Read the section on grounding and then you will start entering the real world of sound: Then start reading the forums here bit by bit.
Its a fun world once you get the basics down. Its most likely over you head but its what it takes sometimes to help people. If you are just doing this all for fun, carry on but I don't believe you are going to solve your problem when you are using "toys" and wanting no hum... . You are already wondering why something is noisy. Quality cable costs as much as this mixer you have.

Behringer EURORACK UB1202 is most likely your issue. You are going to be going around in circles trying to solve this. $80 for a mixer is all noise and China child labour. All the money in this thing is looks, packaging, shipping and dealer commission.

Well I mean im not just doing it for fun, I'm very interested in Audio engineering and production and what not. I'm just on a very strict budget at the moment being in college and stuff so yeh I have an $80 mixer but I have to make do with what I've got. But music is my passion and my life. If there's something else you could tell me to do besides getting a different mixer or preferring me to something else. I mean I wana do this stuff for a living one day. Right now im just trying to get my music started and get noticed, I'm a prodigy when it comes to music. I just want my stuff sounding good. So help me out man

here's some things that will help.

on a mixer like that,gain staging is crucial.
don't turn any of the pre-amp gains any higher than 2 oclock..instead, sing louder or closer to the mic or crank the sources more.
don't use the e.q.(do your eq'ing. in logic).if you have to use that e.q. then cut more than boost.
when you turn up the track knobs or the master slider, keep them in the green..if you see yellow lights anywhere on that mixer,bring them down just under the yellow, in the green.(that's as quiet as it's gonna get.)
make sure your cables are good, they don't have to be great but good.

and like everyone else said, start with one piece at a time,hooking it up and see wich one is making which and what noise.

There are other product that will improve your sound but they cost money. I don't believe you will be able to quiet down the noise you are experiencing with that mixer. However, don't worry about it for now. Enjoy your music and learning more with Logic.

You should be able to plug your headphones into the mixer with nothing plugged in except the mixer power.
Listen and see if there is any hum or hissing....turn each of the knobs and controls and see what you hear.
If it's quiet then plug some source like your ipod or cd player into a line input check that get your levels adjusted so that it's clean.
Then go from there with each mic or instrument checking each one as you go along and adjusting levels.
If you are getting noise or hum with nothing plugged in I would take it back!
If you can't do that, find another inexpensive mixer like maybe a mackie....

Just a question is the socket your plugging your equipment into grounded? I've noticed before I grounded my sockets I was getting electrical hums/hissing.

The comment on the price of the mixer is totally unfounded. Behringer actually is the best out there at the moment regarding quality for the pound... So ignore that one.(edit- As someone seemed to have got confused...I meant in its price range- No disrespect to the person who done the comment).

You are probably using a USB interface ?!? They tend to have grounding issues.
Plus remember that computers and guitars, TV's, etc close wont do ( Neither mobile phones on close). Like people asking why they have this massive buzz/hiss recording into their PC, with monitors on ... Well, quite obvious whats causing them the HISS lol!!
