It might be of interest that the Chinese are now building empty boxes and complete speakers to the old BBC design. No idea what they're like - but have a look own Aliexpress. Crossovers and the boxes look pretty nice, but they're not cheap, but for anyone unable to make nice looking boxes, they could be worth a look - especially if you like tweaking.

I still have my pair of the originals. I suspect a lot of what makes them great is that the drivers were a matched pair with adjustments made the crossover in order to pull the speakers into spec. My Duntechs were made using the same approach to driver selection and measurements. Most speakers are just the same model drivers thrown into a box with a standard crossover.
