Anyway I'm writing a paper for school about whats being done to control audio on the internet like CD copy protection things like itunes that jazz. I was hoping to get some more information on the subject and thought this would be a good place to start. Anything you guys can give would be much apprishiated.

well, google would be a good start.
but to give you an answer, the only thing i know of is those fbi warnings on the backs of cds. and some sony cds are made so they can only play on special included players when the cd is inserted in the computer. the problem with that is that when they do that, the cd installs a rootkit (google for specifics) which is like the same technology viruses use. it basically is a file, can be for anything, which is hidden on the computer and is pretty much 'invisible'. i don't know alot about it, but i think they might collect info and stuff about you.
also i know the velvet revolver cd like skips when its played on the computer.
thats all i know though.
