What combo of EQ / compression or other things are you guys using? Been trying to work up a bass sound for the first time in a while and going back to basics. The signal chain is a Carvin LB76 bass into a Brick feeding a RME Hammerfall 9632 and using Cubase as a platform.

I know the potential is there in this gear but I am not having much luck finding it. I've tried both passive and active modes on the bass but just finding a lot of mush.

I'm looking for a nice fusion bass tone ala Tribal Tech or Chick Corea's electric Band. I don't have those players chops but I think I can cop their tone.
